Discover Burien along with their Seasoned Chefs, are happy to welcome guest chef, Heidi Pomeroy to the Burien Farmers Market this Thursday. Heidi Pomeroy is the owner and head chef at Maven Meals and Maven Mercantile located at 641 SW 152nd St. The Seasoned Chefs have been a welcome addition to the market this year. Every week at noon they offer cooking demonstrations and prepare hundreds of samples featuring local seasonal produce available at the market. The recipes of the food they prepare are also available so guests to the market can prepare their own chef inspired creations at home. Cooking with fresh, local seasonal produce is not only healthy, it’s also quick and simple!

This week Heidi Pomeroy will join the Seasoned Chefs preparing one of her amazing dishes; Corn, and Blueberry Salsa. A perfect light snack to enjoy the taste of summer. Heidi offered “I’m excited to offer this recipe for the market demonstration & help with the market! This is a great time of year, with an abundance of local ingredients to choose from and we are so lucky to live in area where produce is easily accessible, fresh & flavorful! This Corn & Blueberry Salsa is a great example letting the ingredients shine through without doing too much to take away from their natural flavor. This unique recipe is always a hit when we bring it to a get together!”
