Football
Both Kennedy Catholic and Foster face playoff games at the same time Friday -- 7 p.m.
The Lancers host Roosevelt at Highline Memorial Stadium as the Bulldogs entertain Franklin Pierce on their own field in Tukwila.
Seattle Lutheran will also be home for a playoff at a time to be announced.
Meanwhile, Highline will visit West Seattle for a non-playoff game at the Southwest Athletic Complex, also at 7 p.m. Friday. Chief Sealth is at Sammamish at the same time.
Girls soccer
Highline will host North Kitsap in 7:30 p.m. playoff action Thursday as Kennedy Catholic goes to Renton Stadium to play Sumner.
Volleyball
West Seattle faces Blanchet in a loser-out playoff match at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Juanita.
Also that night, Shorewood Christian opens the Tri-District B tournament at Evergreen Lutheran.
Mount Rainier visits Kentwood for a 12 p.m. playoff Friday and Kennedy opens West Central District 3A action at 3:30 p.m. at Auburn-Mountainview.
Foster, Evergreen and Highline all open 2A WCD action at Franklin Pierce that day.
The tournaments run through Saturday.
Cross country
State action for all classifications is taking place in the Tri-Cities area Saturday.
Girls swimming
Hazen is hosting West Central District action Friday and Saturday as the Sea-King meet takes place at the Mary Wayte pool.

Sounders
Seattle is in Dallas for 4:30 p.m. playoff action Sunday.
Seahawks
Seattle has a bye this Sunday before hosting Arizona at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15.
Thunderbirds
Seattle is in Edmonton for 6 p.m. action Wednesday.
Stars
Tacoma plays its home professional indoor soccer opener Friday with a 7:35 p.m. visit from the Sacramento Surge at Showare Center in Kent.
The Stars are coached by Thomas Jefferson graduate Darren Sawatzky.
Colleges
Huskies
The University of Washington hosts Utah for 4:30 p.m. action at Husky Stadium this Saturday.
Cougars
Arizona State pays a visit to Pullman to play Washington State University at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
