Driving While Wounded
Police are investigating a West Seattle shooting that occurred on Saturday evening, Nov. 28. Police learned that a 25-year-old man had been shot twice in the lower body after a confrontation with another man. The incident happened outside of a convenience store located in the 9000 block of Delridge Way S.W. As the victim had exited the convenience store he was met by a man who was speaking absurdly. The victim felt intimidated and in response drew a revolver handgun and fired it once into a nearby fence in hopes of scaring the suspicious man away. The suspect then quickly ran into an awaiting truck, acquired a firearm and fired back several times at the victim while speeding off. The victim too, had gotten inside his vehicle and drove away from the convenience store. However, as the victim was driving southbound he had noticed that he had been hit by the bullets fired at him from the suspect. The victim pulled to the side of the road in the 10400 block of 16th Ave. S.W. and called police. When police arrived they had the victim transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. Wounds sustained from the shooting were not life threatening. Detectives are conducting further investigation of the case and encourage any witnesses of this event to come forward. The suspect involved in the shooting remains at large.
Driving a Stolen Vehicle on Top of Armed Robbery
On Monday, Nov. 30 at around 1 a.m., police were dispatched to a convenience store located in the 1600 block of S.W. Holden St. for a report of an armed robbery. Just before 1 a.m. three men entered the convenience store and began to scan the shelves. One of the suspects shuffled up to the counter and drew a handgun, intimidating the clerk. The suspect moved behind the counter as the two other suspects kept watch. The gunman snatched several items including cigarettes and other merchandise. Then the three suspects piled into a white Honda Accord and drove away. Later that day, officers saw the Honda Accord driving. They stopped the vehicle and arrested the occupant. Police also found methamphetamine and scratch tickets. In addition, police learned the Honda used was a Honda that had been stolen from South Seattle the day before the armed robbery.
