West Seattle fell shy against Bishop Blanchet by a 62-46 score in Friday's Metro League girls basketball championship game.
The loss in the Chief Sealth gymasium left the Wildcats as the No. 2 seed into the Sea-King District tournament, still giving them a first round bye.
West Seattle opens with a 3 p.m. Tuesday game against an opponent to be determined at Bellevue College.
Chief Sealth, meanwhile, suffered a season ending 61-58 loss to Ballard at Garfield on Friday.
