Assault on 61 Ave SW

When police arrived on the assault 3200 block of 61 Ave SW around 7:22 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, they found the woman who called waiting inside her home with her son. The son had been playing at a park with two friends, when he noticed an adult male behind the bushes nearby. He decided to leave the area because he did not know the man or what he was doing there. All three friends started to run home. Three unidentified males started to run after the boys, firing a bb gun at the children and striking one of their backpacks. The victims were not able to see who was chasing them. Police were checking the area for evidence, when they were flagged down at the intersection of 60 Ave SW and SW Stevens St by a man and his husband. They explained that they were having dinner when they heard BB gun shots. They went outside and saw a black sedan driving quickly by their house. A passenger in the car shot the man with a BB gun, striking him in the left arm. Another witness was also shot at his home window.

Dangerous driver

Officers arrived on the 7100 block of 18 Ave SW around 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 4 in response to a call about an assault. The victim saw a Camry with dark windows speeding south on 16 Ave SW and yelled at the vehicle to slow down. The driver got out, pointed a handgun at him and threatened to shoot. The suspect was described as in his 20s or 30s, about 6’ tall and 180 pounds, with short black hair wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. Officers checked the area for the car but were unable to find it.

Armed robbery on Fauntleroy

Around 2:50 p.m. Friday, March 3, an employee of a service station located on the 4500 block of Fauntleroy Way SW was behind the cash register when a man drove up in a green Honda Civic, parked in front of the store, entered through the door, placed a black backpack on the counter and took out a semi-automatic handgun. The woman picked up the phone to call 911, but the suspect ordered her to put down the phone and empty the register. She gave him $200 in cash. He also demanded Newport cigarettes, and she gave him a number of packs before he fled the scene. She said the man was 5’7” and slender, wearing a black jacket and a black scarf covering his face. Officers will follow up with the business owner to access surveillance footage. The victim was able to remember the license plate number – and the suspect’s vehicle had been reported stolen. Police searched the area for the vehicle and the robber but were unable to locate anyone.

Detectives searching for similar assault cases

King County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking female victims of unreported or unsolved assault cases similar to one that occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 2 the 9600 block of 15 Ave SW. The suspect, a 21 year-old male, grabbed his victim and dragged her to a secluded area before sexually assaulting and beating her. He fled on foot, but was apprehended a short distance from the crime scene and arrested, thanks to a witness’ call to 911. The victim sustained critical injuries and is at Harborview in a medical coma. Detectives believe the woman, 55, is homeless or transient. They also think there may be unreported or unsolved cases similar in nature.  The suspect is believed to have lived in Tukwila, Auburn, Kent and South King County.
