Motorbike stolen from outdoor shed

A man residing on the 8400 block of 18th Avenue S.W. called police around 4:30 p.m. on Fri., April 21 to report the burglary of his outdoor shed. The victim noticed that the padlock had been pried open with some type of unknown tool. He kept his 2013 red Honda motorbike inside—and the vehicle, which had no plates, was stolen.

Shoplifter targets West Seattle Target

Around 10:30 p.m. on Thurs., April 20, police received a robbery report from Target, located at 2800 S.W. Barton. A store employee noticed a man inside, who had a history of shoplifting from the store and who was already trespassed from the location. He was wrapping three bottles of liquor in tin foil before hiding them in his jacket. She tried to stop him before he exited the store, but he pushed her out of the way. During the scuffle, one of the liquor bottles fell and shattered on the ground. The man ran away from the scene. The woman described him as about 50 or 60 years old, medium build with a grey, scruffy beard. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate him. The victim was not injured and provided security footage and photos to officers.

Muddy foot print only evidence of attempted break-in

Officers were dispatched to the 6700 block of 18th Avenue S.W. around 1 p.m. on Thurs., April 20 to investigate an attempted burglary. The victim came home around 12:40 p.m. after leaving at noon to find damage to his front door. He saw several muddy shoe prints nearby and down the driveway, continuing to the street. He checked the interior of the home and found no one inside. Officers took a mold of the shoe print but were unable to find any other evidence. Neighbors said they did not see anything.

Burglary on 38th Avenue S.W.

A woman residing on the 5000 block of 38th Avenue S.W. went to work at 8 a.m. on Thurs., April 20. When she returned home around 4 p.m. to get a snack for her son before picking him up from school, she noticed a credit card on the porch that did not belong to her. When she went inside, several cupboards were open and items were tossed on the floor. Her office and master bedroom were ransacked. A new Mac computer was stolen, as well as an iPad. She called the police and explained all of the damage. The suspects entered the house through the kitchen window—but they wiped down the window and door to remove any fingerprints.

Attempted Burglary on 12th Avenue S.W.

A woman residing on the 7500 block of 12th Avenue S.W. called officers to report an attempted burglary around 3 p.m. on Wed., April 19. She told police that she was asleep around 1 p.m. and awoke to a loud banging noise coming from downstairs. She was scared and stayed in the bedroom until the noise stopped. When she opened her bedroom door, she noticed a man standing there. When the suspects saw her, they fled the building. The men damaged the front door when they broke into the home. The victim does not believe any items were stolen.
