Chat line romance turns violent
Officers received a call about shots fired around 12:30 a.m. on Fri., July 7and were dispatched to the 4300 block of 30th Avenue S.W. to check it out. The caller said an unknown suspect shot him through his front door and then fled the area. The victim explained that he was chatting with a woman on an adult chat line. She sent him a photo and asked if he wanted her to come visit. He said yes, but she did not show up. So, he erased her messages. Later, a different woman from the photo arrived at his house and demanded money. When he said that he did not have any, she drew a handgun and pointed it at him. He reaffirmed that he did not have cash and asked her to leave. As she made her way out, she fired a shot through the front door. The man was not injured. The victim did not want to make a statement. He said the suspect was in her 20s, about 5’10” tall and heavy-set. Officers recovered the shell casing in front of the residence and placed it into evidence.
Burglary on 22nd Avenue S.W.
A man residing on the 9200 block of 22nd Avenue S.W. reported a burglary on Fri., July 7. He said the crime occurred while he was at work, sometime between 7:50 a.m. and 4:50 p.m. when his neighbor called to tell him his dog was loose. When the victim arrived at 7 p.m., he found that his front door had been forced open. He walked inside and noticed that his television, Xbox and video games were missing. A gym bag was also stolen, as well as a revolver and turntable. Drawers and cabinets were open in the kitchen. In addition, $2,200 was gone. Officers discovered that glass had been broken in the back door. Officers were able to collect blood and a fingerprint from the door for evidence.
Assaulted while sleeping
Police responded to a report of an assault around 8:30 p.m. on Thurs., July 6. A witness said a man was struck in the face with a rock by a male suspect on the 5400 block of Delridge Way S.W. When officers arrived, Seattle Fire Department was already on the scene, treating the victim for facial injuries. He had a large laceration on the inside of his lower lip. The witness saw the victim sleeping on a bench outside of the library when a man walked up and chucked a rock at his face. She said the suspect did not say anything prior to the attack. She described the suspect as being in his 60s, about 6’4” with red or blonde hair and wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. The victim had been drinking a beer before the incident and did not remember what happened. He believed he lost consciousness. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center.
