"Seventy years and still going strong! The Rotary Club of West Seattle will celebrate its 70th anniversary, Tuesday, Nov 7th. On this date in 1947, 27 West Seattleites accepted their charter and began a journey of humanitarian service at home and abroad.
President Brian J Waid and current members invite you to drop by their noon meeting tomorrow at the Alki Masonic Lodge for a no-host luncheon and festivities. The 12:00 buffet lunch will be followed by a short business meeting, including the reading of a proclamation by King County Executive Dow Constantine. The lodge is located at 4736 40th Ave. SW in West Seattle.
Clay Eals, who recently left the position of Executive Director of the Southwest Seattle Historical Society, will be the featured speaker at approximately 1:00 PM. His presentation is expected to entwine the histories of our community with that of the Rotary Club of West Seattle.
