Assault with weapon
At 11:50 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 18, officers were dispatched to the intersection of 9th Avenue S.W. and S.W. Henderson Street to investigate a possible shooting. When they arrived, they could not find the victim, suspect or the shell casings. Then, they made contact with the victim, who was waiting in the 9400 block of 16th Avenue S.W. She explained that she was stopped at the intersection of West Marginal Way S.W. and Highland Park Way S.W., when the suspect pulled up on her driver side. The suspect yelled at her and flipped her off. He rolled down his window and threw a rock at her car. He then pulled out a handgun and flashed it at her. He left, but later she heard gunshots. She tried to follow the suspect but was unable to keep up.
Man becomes confrontational with police after calling them about a prowler
Around 1 a.m. on Sat., Nov. 18, officers arrived to a call about a prowler in the 8800 block of 17th Avenue S.W. When they arrived, they found the subject in front of the residence. He was aggressive when speaking to the police and said a beer can had been thrown at him. Officers then spoke to the man’s wife. She explained that her husband had yelled at a group causing a disturbance at the intersection of 17th Avenue S.W. and S.W. Henderson Street. One of the men threw a beer at her husband and struck him in the upper back. Then, the group ran away to the north. The husband came back outside and started swearing at the officers. The police decided to leave.
Assault in a home
When officers arrived in the 2900 block of S.W. Avalon Way around 9 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 17, they found the victim with a swollen eye and laceration to the left cheek. The caller said that the victim had been in a common room, watching television and was quoting scripture out loud. Others asked him to be quiet, but he would not stop. One man attacked him, punching him in the face. A house manager came in and saw the fight. The victim was transferred to Harborview. The suspect had no injuries. The suspect was placed under arrest for assault.
Shoplifter becomes aggressive
Officers arrived in the 4200 block of S.W. Morgan Street around 3:30 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 17 to search for a suspect in an assault. He was described as being 18 to 20 years old and wearing a hoodie, a hat and dark jeans. When the police arrived on the scene, they found a man matching the description in front of a store. Officers ran after the suspect, who was eventually handcuffed and detained. Once he was in custody, officers found a knife in his front pants pocket. After a routine check, the suspect was found to have previous robbery convictions. The victim had recognized the suspect from a previous incident when he stole a sandwich. The victim approached the man and saw that he had a bottle of wine in his clothing. When asked to leave, the suspect pulled out a knife. On his way out of the store, he threw a squash at the shop employee’s back. Another employee called 911. The suspect was detained until officers arrived. He was uncooperative when questioned. The suspect was booked directly into King County Jail. While being transported, he beat his head against the car until it started bleeding.
