Obituaries

Virginia Lee (Ginny) Greenlee passed away on June 27, 2018 at Highline Hospital after a brief illness.  She was born on June 23, 1926, to Clyde Forest Greenlee and Dora Mae Greenlee in Monroe, Washington.  She attended elementary and high school in Ephrata, Washington, graduating in 1944.  She graduated from Washington State University in 1948. Ginny was a faithful and lifelong supporter of her home team.  Go Cougs!

Leslie John Frith (Les), age 82, was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a multi-sport athlete, Navy veteran, accomplished salesman, Knight of Columbus, artist and teacher. Wherever he lived, Les became a strong part of the community and leaves behind a long list of friends and acquaintances.  He often spoke of being thankful for all of them and what they brought to his life. He loved family, friends, the outdoors, music, friendly competition and a good laugh.  A humble, thankful mentor, he made many laugh, think and become a better person. Les will be deeply missed 

Rod Skoglund, born January 6, 1940, passed away the morning of June 24, 2018 from complications related to metastasized ocular melanoma and its treatment.  He was married to Janice Montgomery Skoglund for 50 years until her passing in May of 2014.  He is survived by his children, Paul Skoglund (wife Liz) of Bellevue, WA, Susie Young (husband Brian and daughters, Abbie and Zoe) of Portland, OR, and Scott Skoglund (wife Allison) of Seattle, WA; as well as by his brother Albert Skoglund (wife Ann) of Walla Walla, WA, and sister Donna Koziol (husband John) of Bend, OR.

On June 19, 2018 surrounded by his family, Paul passed away after a long bout with Alzheimer's/Dementia.

Janet (Jan) passed away after several years of battling dementia. Her husband, Jack passed away three years ago and at that time she moved from Birch Bay to Seattle to be closer to family and friends.

Sandra Kay Beaucage passed away peacefully after a battle with liver cancer on June 8, 2018. Sandy was born in Washington D.C. on April 13, 1943. She graduated in the class of 1961 from St. Petersburg High School in Florida; married Robert (Beau) Beaucage shortly thereafter, and became a Coast Guard wife. They had two children together, Michele and David.

Claudia Altman died unexpectedly but peacefully in Seattle on April, 24th at the age of 84. Claudia is survived her husband, Leslie Altman, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Lois A. Sundberg (Steinhoff-Trulin) passed at age 86, on Friday, May 25, 2018 in Renton, WA.  She was born at Virginia Mason Hospital, Seattle, WA on December 3, 1931, to proud parents: Doris G. and Clarence G. Steinhoff and was their only child.

Lois grew up in West Seattle, and graduated from West Seattle High School in 1950. 

The highlights of her working career were years spent at Fisher’s Flouring Mills, and Sears-Roebuck Co.  

Constance, 79, died peacefully on May 20, 2018. She was a resident of Des Moines, WA for over 50 years. She worked for Seattle First and Bank of America for 25 years. She was the friendly face who greeted you at the Des Moines branch. Before that she managed Greenacres Learning Center.

She spent her spare time knitting, quilting, antiquing. She loved spending time at the beach. And rumor has it she played a mean penny on the slot machines at the local casino.
