Joyce E. Carfrae 1934 – 2018

Joyce Carfrae, 83, of West Seattle, WA, died after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease on February 18, 2018. Her daughters were with her when she peacefully passed. 

 

Joyce was born in Seattle on September 19, 1934. She graduated from West Seattle High School in 1953. She married George, who preceded her in death (2012), on April 23, 1954. George and Joyce lived most of their married life in the Alki area.

 

Bonita “Bonnie” J. Foster May 20, 1920- January 31, 2018

Her public persona was a quiet, dignified and modest Lady who preferred staying in the background. The absolute best mother and grandmother, she was adored by five children, Leslie, Kathy, Kim, Clark and Dagny, and three grandchildren, Indianna, Bowe and Bonnie Rose.  Her clever use of language, mischievous sense of humor, erudite conversation and boundless love will be missed endlessly.

 

Betty Ann Oebser 1931 - 2018

Betty Ann Oebser, 86, beloved mother, wife, and sister, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018.  She had been a Des Moines resident for almost 60 years.

 

Betty was born in 1931 in Chehalis to John and Flora (Jenkins) Kludt.  

 

She graduated from Chehalis High School and studied for a year at Central Washington University where she met her future husband and the love of her life, Leonard Oebser.  They were married for almost 60 years before his death in 2013. 

  

Myland Louis Streck . April 21, 1026--February 4, 2015 . Betty Jean Streck March 15, 1926--January 28, 2018

Betty was born March 15, 1926 to Claude Shirley and Anna C. Spohn of Toledo, Oregon. 

Betty passed away peacefully January 28, 2018 in Poulsbo Washington.  She grew up in Toledo and Klamath Falls, Oregon with her three older brothers, Al, Ray, Jack and her older sister that we knew as Sis. All of which preceded Betty in death.

 

Valentina V. Bostick 7/17/1925 – 11/13/2017

On November 13, 2017 our beloved mom, Valentina Violet Rojnovsky, Luke, Bostick soared in her true, real fashion, leaving high winds blowing and a message for her two daughters, Sherry Luke & Marcia Schnaubelt with the most majestic of owls, the Great Horned Owl. 

Mom was the daughter of Eugene & Dorothy Rojnovsky and had one sibling, Boris. Mom loved Washington State and began her journey of life in the Highline District very close to where her life journey came to an end.

Mary Ann Southworth 10/22/1928 – 2/2/2018

Mary Ann Southworth of Shelton, WA, formerly of Seattle, WA, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2018 at the age of 89.  She was born in Centralia, WA on October 22, 1928 and grew up in Rainier, WA.  Beloved wife of Howard for 45 years; dear mother of Steve (Becky), Jeff (Denice), Marti (Steve), Jon (Belinda) and Molly (Mark).  She was a loving Grandmother to Mark, James (Diane), Michael, Luke (Sophie), Alice (Jason), Brandi (Robert), Joanna, Jennifer; Great Grandmother to Malea, Elijah, Caleb and Ella, and devoted sister to Darlene (Lars), brother Manley (Janet), brother Morrie (Annie),

Alan Bestor Phillips 8/9/1919 - 2/4/2018

Al was preceded in death by Ilmi Salmi, his beloved wife of 68 years. Loving father of Jeanne Marie Anglin (Don) and Susan Phillips Hamm (Bob); grandfather of four grandchildren: Matt (Gwyn), Mark (Cherie), Todd (Amber), Karen (Brad); great grandfather to Tyler (Korrin), Kellen, and Duke; great-great grandfather to Roslyn and Walter; and his “second family” Bob and Judy, neighbors for 55 years. He was born in Seattle on August 9, 1919. He joined the WA National Guard in 1936 while attending Franklin High School and served in the US Army 41st Infantry Division in the Pacific during WWII.

Barbara Ann Eggebraten 1934 ~ 2018

Barbara Ann Eggebraten (Shroeder) passed peacefully on January 7, 2018.  Barbara was born in Buffalo, NY on October 15, 1934 to Alice Richardson Olmsted and Daniel Shroeder.

Barbara lived in West Seattle for almost 80 years. She graduated from Alki, Madison and WSHS (’52).  After graduation, she worked in the medical field.  She married Roger Eggebraten in 1961 and they recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.
