Update for July 25:
The police report from a July 16 robbery that resulted in the victim being shot in the buttocks revealed a dangerous struggle over the firearm used in the robbery.
According to the report, the victim met with a black male suspect in front of his home on the 9700 block of 33rd Ave S.W. They met the night before and the victim believed he was going to purchase shorts and sports shirts from the suspect.
Instead, the suspect led the victim back to his vehicle (a maroon Ford Bronco), pulled out a pistol and put it to the victim's temple.
"(Expletive), you know what this is, this is a (expletive) robbery!," the suspect yelled as he reached into the victim's back pocket and took his wallet.
A scuffle ensued and the victim was able to grab the pistol barrel, forcing it from his temple to his hip.
The suspect fired once, shooting the victim in the left buttocks before fleeing in his vehicle with a female acquaintance.
Seattle Police Detective Mark Jamieson said no arrests have been made as of July 25 in the ongoing investigation led by SPD gang detectives.
from the SPD blotter:
On July 16th, at about 5:10 PM, South West Precinct officers responded to the 9700 Block of 33 Avenue Southwest on a report of a shooting. An adult male who had apparently befriended the suspects the night before, met the suspects, described as two black men and a white female, outside of a residence where he was planning on purchasing some items from one of the suspects. As the victim reached for his wallet, one of the suspects pulled out a gun. There was a struggle over the weapon, and the victim was shot once in the buttocks. The suspects fled in a maroon Ford Bronco. Police and Seattle Fire responded to the scene and SFD transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center. The injury is not considered life-threatening.
