UPDATE: Starbucks Global Month of Service comes to White Center April 28

Starbucks shared the details of their White Center area plan to provide some cleanup efforts as part of their Global Month of Service campaign.
Throughout April, Starbucks is hosting its second annual Global Month of Service – mobilizing its partners (employees) and customers to help address local community needs around the world
WHAT: On Saturday, April 28, Starbucks is hosting a service project as part of its second annual Global Month of Service. The project in Seattle will be revitalizing the Mount View Elementary School and two nearby parks (White Center Park and Lakewood Park) to create a positive environment for the students and community.
This project is one of many projects taking place throughout the month of April as part of the company’s Global Month of Service. The month is a celebration of Starbucks commitment to helping communities thrive. As with last year, thousands of partners, customers and community organizations around the world are coming together to participate in service projects that address their local community needs.
In collaboration with Seattle Works, Starbucks partners, customers and volunteers will be revitalizing the interior and exterior of Mount View Elementary School, painting a mural, and beautifying the neighboring park.

Starbucks will be partnering with Seattle Works, a local non profit organization, to volunteer in the White Center community in honor of their April Global Month of Service. April 28 2012--Registration begins at 9am.
The event will last 3 hours.
They are seeking volunteers and have more than 50, but they need 200.
There will be indoor and outdoor activities that will include (but not be limted to) weeding landscaped areas, litter pick up, planting vegetation, assembling goody bags, and making fleece blankets.
If you have a Starbucks community T-Shirt wear it, or one will be provided for you.
All neccessary supplies will be provided by Seattle Works--dress for typical Seattle weather in April (so check the forecast).
