REMINDER: Trader Joe's opens Friday April 13

Trader Joe's grocery store will open its new West Seattle store located at 4545 Fauntleroy Way Southwest (three blocks East of the Alaska Junction) on Friday, April 13 at 8am. To commemorate the official opening Trader Joe’s Captain (store manager) Sean Greutert, Regional Vice President Micheal Krause and the crew will gather at 8:00AM for a ceremonial lei cutting to welcome new customers– Trader Joe’s style. The celebration will continue throughout the day with a live music, balloons for the kids and food demonstrations. The celebration will continue on Saturday April, 14.
The 14,200 square foot store features a festive décor mixing traditional Trader Joe’s cedar covered walls, Hawaiian inspired elements throughout the store combined with a local flare including art that celebrates the neighborhood. Throughout the grocery store there are several amazing hand painted murals that pay homage to all things West Seattle including Alki Beach, The West Seattle Junction, the Fauntleroy Ferry, West Seattle High School, Sealth High School, The Alki Point Lighthouse, the Log Museum and more.
Trader Joes promotes its products via theTrader Joe’s “Fearless Flyer” mailed to area residents. According to a press release from the company, "The Fearless Flyer is a somewhat irreverent description of a timely selection of Trader Joe’s products. It’s been called a cross between Consumer Reports and Mad Magazine. Each edition highlights a selection of Trader Joe’s products that the company buyers believe are worthy of customer interest, including comfort foods and items that are organic or have other special attributes."
Trader Joe's carries an extensive array of domestic and imported foods and beverages including fresh baked artisan breads, Arabica bean coffees, international frozen entrées, 100% juices, fresh crop nuts, deli items, and vitamins and supplements, as well as the basics, like milk and eggs.
The store offers more than 1000 items under the Trader Joe’s private label, which includes Trader José's salsas, Trader Ming’s fried rice, Trader Giotto’s marinara sauces, in addition to specially purchased items.
Trader Joe’s introduces approximately a dozen new items every week, featured on an end cap display for the purpose.
Trader Joe’s began in 1958 in the Los Angeles area. Since then, Trader Joe’s has expanded to more than 365 stores in 32 states.
