Report: Seattle electricity rate increase could force Nucor steel plant to move

The Puget Sound Business Journal is reporting a Seattle City Light proposal to increase power rates could put Nucor, the steel plant employing 300 people just off the West Seattle Bridge, in a position to move on.
According to PSBJ, the increase of 4.7 percent over the next six years would mean Nucor's Seattle plant would pay the most for power of their 19 U.S. plants, and could encourage their parent company to "invest elsewhere," according to Nucor Vice President and General Manager Matt Lyons.
