Kami Williams and Tyler Houser got their puppy Skyy (named after "sky bird" Williams said), only a few days ago. Skyy is an 8 week old purebred pit bull. "Her father is an American Pit and I'm not sure about her mother," explained Williams about Skyy's look and markings.

"We drove all the way to DuPont, Wa two days ago to pick her up." The couple found her online and Williams said, "We were looking for any kind of new puppy for our son Kaden (he's only four months old too)," and they wanted to find him any kind of dog to grow up with as a companion.

They only paid $150, "and she was the last one" said Williams. They marked the price down for Williams and "she's a bargain hunter," said Houser.

Even though they have only had Skyy a short time they are already in love with her. "She's very playful," said Williams, "but she likes to have accidents in the middle of the night." Houser said "One happened on me. She actually took a poop on my foot while I was sleeping. It was the weirdest thing and I've never heard of anything like that."

Skyy gets solid puppy food from Costco and soft training treats. To get Skyy started they have a 'Puppy Kong" (a heavy duty rubber ball), and "some sort of rattle like thing."

"She chews on everything and she chases grass. When we take her outside to go poddy, she decides to attack tall grass."

"When she's not on the bed with you," the puppy will cry, said Williams. If she loses eye sight of you then she's basically going to start crying," said Houser.

The couple plans to give Skyy training for good behavior but not just for the benefit of their new son. "Pit bulls tend to get a bad rap and we really don't want her to have that. We also got her to hopefully teach people that Pit Bulls are as bad as what they seem."

I've actually had negative experiences as well as extremely good experiences," with Pit Bulls explained Williams, "but I do enjoy the breed myself so I really wanted one."

Kaden loves Skyy so far too. "She likes to cuddle,"said Williams. "When he's in th car seat she will come and lay in the car seat with him," said Houser.

"I loved her the first time I saw her and she slept on me the whole way home."
