The signs are up for the annual Neighborhood Night Out Tuesday, Aug. 7 with 241 West Seattle neighborhood block parties set to happen between roughly 6pm and 9pm.
The annual Night Out event Tuesday, Aug. 7 whose purpose is to familiarize neighbors with each other and help prevent crime is shaping up for 241 West Seattle, and South Park neighborhood blocks according to Seattle Police Crime Prevention Coordinator Mark Solomon. Of the 241 signed up, only 21 have elected to make their party known more widely and literally put on the map.
There is still time to register your party (before 12 Noon on Aug. 7) on the SPD site here.

Many neighborhoods just use the party as a way to enjoy a summer evening out, and talk with friends but others play games, have contests, and more seriously talk about crime prevention and disaster preparedness.
Solomon said, "The bottom line is, take the time to reconnect with your neighbors."
