Transitional Resources a West Seattle-based non-profit mental health agency reports that their annual fundraising event Sept. 27 at The Hall At Fauntleroy was a huge success, raising approximately $60,000.00 in support of critical mental health services and supportive housing for men and women living with serious and persistent mental illness. Distinguished guests included actor Josh Lucas (A Beautiful Mind, Sweet Home Alabama, Glory Road).
The event’s program focused on fighting the stigma associated with mental illness, as well as celebrating clients’ many successes—including accomplishments with employment, housing, and long-term recovery. Rachel Karlin, owner of West Seattle-based Ola Salon, received the 2012 Community Citizenship Award for her part in fighting stigma.
Transitional Resources mission is providing mental health treatment, housing, and a supportive community to those with serious and persistent mental illness.
