Police are still looking for leads in all three shootings.
Original post on April 3
The night after two young men were shot several times in West Seattle, Seattle Police are reporting two drive-by shootings occurred on April 2.
The first shooting occurred on the 2000 block of S.W. Cloverdale St., the third reported drive-by on that block since March 10. (You can read more about those here and here).
From SPD Det. Mark Jamieson:
Southwest Precinct officers responded to two separate reports of shots fired within 30 minutes last night in West Seattle.
Beginning around 10:15 pm, neighbors in the 2000 Block of SW Cloverdale Street reported shots fired in the area. According to witness, a gold car, possibly a Taurus, circled the block once and then parked just north of a residence. Two people were seen getting out, and then walking toward the southeast corner of 20th Avenue Southwest and SW Cloverdale, where the two suspects, each armed with a handgun, fired toward one particular house. Fortunately, there were no injuries. The suspects then fled. Officers and detectives from the Gang Unit responded. Despite an area check, the suspect vehicle was not located.
Then, about 30 minutes later, police responded to a 911 call from a man who stated he was walking in the 2400 Block of SW Thistle when an unknown person fired a shot at him from a newer, grey Honda Odyssey. The man was not injured, and officers could not locate any property damage. The victim told police that a Hispanic man in his 30′s was driving the van, and a Hispanic male in his 20′s, seated in the front passenger seat, actually fired the gun. Gang Unit detectives were still in the area from the previous call and responded to handle this investigation as well.
