House robbed, vehicle stolen
On June 5 a burglary victim called 911 in the afternoon to report someone had broken into his home and stolen his truck from the 8100 block of 31st Ave. S.W. Missing items from the home included two Coach purses, two Coach wallets, one Nordstrom wallet, a full jewelry box and a full box of nose tissues. Police advised their patrol about the missing truck and it was found a bit later on the 7900 block of 27th Ave. S.W. No one was inside, but the front seat was pulled tight to the steering wheel, indicating someone small (possibly a juvenile) was driving. The victim responded and stated two cups in the truck were not his, but some of the items stolen were left in the vehicle, including the jewelry box.

Not a good homecoming
A woman on vacation in Hawaii purchased a bunch of furniture before the trip and stored it in a storage unit on the 2900 block of Avalon Way S.W. Before leaving, she gave a key to the unit and her vehicle to a friend. Upon returning she found all the furniture stolen. She called police and said she thinks her “friend” may having something to do with it due to the fact that his behavior towards her changed while she was in Hawaii, and when she called him about the theft he became irate. Responding officers will continue to investigate, and mentioned that Southwest Precinct officers have had to respond to that particular storage unit several times recently for thefts.

Illegal hangout
Someone has made a habit out of breaking into apartment/condo units being built on the 6500 block of High Point Dr. S.W. The contractor building the units told police someone had broken in the past two weekends, but stolen nothing as there was nothing to steal. On June 2, construction workers arrived to find it had happened again, and this time they left empty beer bottles, smokes and condoms.
