Halloween is coming, and with the spooky holiday comes a witch’s brew brimming with family fun activities throughout West Seattle, White Center and neighboring communities.

The following West Seattle events are sponsored by the City of Seattle and (in the case of the Harvest Festival) West Seattle Junction Association.

West Seattle Harvest Festival (presented by the West Seattle Junction Association)
We’re doing it again folks! We’re closing the streets this fall for the second annual West Seattle Junction Harvest Festival. Our weekly Farmers Market will take on the streets on Sunday, October 27th from 10am to 2pm. Over 40 farmers will be sharing their goods at the peak of harvest, while families can come in their Halloween costumes and do a little trick-or-treat. Halloween doesn’t have to be just candy, we can also enjoy the bounty the earth has to offer.
There are fun activities for the kids which includes Kids Costume Parade, Harvest Crafts and maybe pet some farm animals! All for free!

Harvest Festival Schedule:

Southwest Seattle Halloween Carnivals
Join us in a family night of spooktacular fun at four different locations on Friday, October 25! This year we have more new games, treats and prizes! Costumes are encouraged and optional. Food will be available for purchase.

High Point Fall Festival
Everyone in the family is invited to join in an evening of fun! Kids will enjoy a variety of “frightfully fun” skill-challenging games and activities. This event is created in a way that provides thrills without unnecessary fright. If able, we request a donation of a non-perishable food item to be donated to the West Seattle Food Bank.

High Point Haunted House
Come and join us for our annual Halloween Carnival and Haunted House! Enjoy an evening of scary fun! Do you dare go into the haunted house? Costumes are encouraged! This is a great family event.

High Point Toddler Pumpkinpalooza
Come dressed in your best costume for pumpkin painting, carnival games and more. Each child will receive a bag of age appropriate goodies upon leaving.

Southwest Pool and Teen Life Center Halloween Events
Family Swim: Looking for activities for the entire family? Bring your little ghosts and goblins to Southwest Pool/Teen Life Center and take a dip with the pumpkins! There will be games, a penny dive, bobbing for apples, and other fun activities. Bring the entire family!
Carnival: Fun games and activities for kids 10 and under. Local Southwest teens are volunteers will run the games to ensure that your little goblins have a great time.
Ages: All; anyone under 18 must be accompanied in the water by an adult
Location: Southwest Pool, 2801 SW Thistle St.
Date and time: Friday, October 25, 6-7:30 p.m.; Swim 7-8 p.m.
Cost for family swim: Free Fall Carnival: $0.25 per ticket.

South Park Haunted House cancelled
South Park Community Center, 8319 8th Ave. S, cancelled the teen program haunted house this year. The haunted house was scheduled to take place on October 24 through October 26, 2013.

The South Park Carnival will occur as scheduled on Friday, October 25, 6:30 – 8 p.m.

White Center events

White Center Pumpkin Carving Contest

A collaboration of White Center businesses are bringing everyone together for a White Center Pumpkin Carving Contest on Thursday, Oct. 31.

Oct. 31, 6 - 8 p.m. in the Triangle Park (16th and Roxbury).

Cocoa, cider and treats will be served.

All Ages! Prizes for the best design!

White Center Teen Program to host Community Carnival on Saturday, October 26th

The Annual King County Parks Family Halloween Carnival is coming up on Saturday, October 26th from 2-5pm at the White Center Community Center, in Steve Cox Memorial Park (1321 SW 102nd 98146.) Doors open at 2pm and admission is free. A woodland themed carnival is back by popular demand. Local teens have planned nearly thirty different animal related crafts and games for local children ages 10 and under. Tickets for each activity are sold for .25 each or 5/$1.00. In addition to the games, the carnival also features a free performance by Juggler Alex Zerbe at 3:30pm.

This year’s carnival is once again sponsored by the Teens and Staff of the White Center Teen Program. The WCTP offers free recreational, educational and social enrichment programming to over 800 culturally diverse participants ages 12-19 each year. The program operates five days a week, forty-eight weeks a year and provides structured recreational classes and programs, homework assistance, educational and computer resources, leadership training, volunteer opportunities, special events, field trips, and drop-in activities. The Annual Halloween Carnival is traditionally one of the teens favorite volunteer events. Program staff estimate at least fifty teens will volunteer this upcoming Saturday.
