UPDATE Dec. 6
Firefly Creperie asked the Herald to announce that they were seeking a family to "adopt" for the holiday season, meaning they would focus gift giving on a certain family in need through their own contributions and that of their in store "giving tree and as it turned out, it only took one day.
Owner Charell Estby writes, "We have not only found a family to "adopt" this Christmas, we've found a partner in our next door neighbor, Pavlovich Dental to help us make this happen!
With your help, we'll provide an amazing Christmas for a single mother with five children as well as a Christmas Eve feast for them! Please see our website (www.fireflycafe-ws.com) for a detailed description of what the family needs are."
Deadline for donations: Friday, December 20th.

Firefly Creperie, the West Seattle restaurant/coffee house that just celebrated its one year anniversary is grateful for the community support. But they also recognized through the year that there are people in need and this holiday season they want to give back.
They want to "adopt" a local family in need and help them through the use of an in-store giving tree.
The way they want to go about it is simple.
Owner Charell Estby said they only need to know how to get in touch with the family and they need to know age/gender and what their Christmas wish list is.
"We'll have our Christmas tree with tags for each item and the name (or just gender) and age of the recipient. There will also be a card with a description of the family in need (no names or anything, just a little bit of background info). Customers can either donate items or money for us to go shop for the family. Firefly will be contributing up to $150 towards supporting the family's needs," Estby said.
If you know a family who would benefit from Firefly's request please contact Charell Estby in person at Firefly Creperie at 4160 California Ave SW, by phone at (206) 402-5376.
