Extreme beer book signing plus tasting? What's not to like?
Mon, 12/09/2013
West Seattle beer drinkers have a large range of choices of brew thanks to enterprising retailers but there are beers and then there are extreme beers. These are outrageous brews with unusual ingredients, ridiculously high alcohol by volume (ABV), bizarre names and sometimes unsettling flavors.
West Seattle's own Adem Tepedelen, the author of “The Brewtal Truth Guide to Extreme Beers” which describes and rates more than 100 unusual beers from around the world is coming to West Seattle Dec. 12 for a visit and a beer tasting at the Beer Junction. The book draws parallels to the music scene, with profiles on craft-beer-loving metal musicians and extreme craft beer brewers.
An expert on craft beer Tepedelen is a winner of the prestigious Michael Jackson Beer Journalism award, which celebrates excellence in reporting on American craft beer. Tepedelen is the Brewtal Truth beer columnist for Decibel Magazine and a regular contributor to other publications across North America, including Fine Cooking, Imbibe and Northwest Palate. Also a highly respected music writer, he was editor of The Rocket during the height of the grunge movement and has since written for dozens of other magazines and websites including Mojo, Rolling Stone, Revolver, Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles and Warp.
