Pinned
On March 11 police received a call from a residence on the 800 block of S. Southern St. that the home owners were restraining a female burglary suspect in their yard. When the officers arrived they found the two victims pinning the female suspect to the ground and yelling and arguing with her on the inside of their gated front yard. The suspect was let up and restrained while officers took the story from the victims.
At about 10:30 a.m. one of the victims was sitting in the main room to the residence when he heard the hinges on the door squeak and a person enter the residence. The dogs began barking and running toward the door at the noise as well alerting the other victim who was upstairs. When the first victim went to check the door he found the female suspect, who neither of the victim’s knew, walking into the home. After telling her to leave the suspect and the victim began struggling inside the door as the victim tried to push her out. The suspect then bit the victim, who responded by yelling for the other roommate to come downstairs and to bring a stun gun. When the first victim was handed the stun gun he used it on the rib cage and neck area of the suspect. Once outside the two victims managed to pin the suspect down and call for police.
Neither the victim nor the suspect needed to be treated for their injuries. The suspect was arrested and booked into the King County Jail.
Staged
On March 12 at around 3:30 p.m. on the 4000 block of Delridge WY S.W. a woman was robbed of her cell phone on the street. The victim was walking down the street with her head phones on and listening to music from her cell phone when a man ran up and snatched the phone out of her hands and ran to a Dodge Stratus that had been parked nearby. The victim chased after this suspect, described as a black or possibly Hispanic male in his mid-twenties of average female height at 5 feet and 5 inches tall, who got into the car and tried to start it up quickly. The victim managed to get her hands into the car and attempted to grab back her phone nut was pushed away by the suspect who then sped off.
The victim believes that the robbery was staged as she had earlier seen the suspect watching her very closely on the street. She is from a rural town and did not think much of a stranger watching her. The suspect remains unknown and at large.
