The house guest
On Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. police received a call from a woman who reported that her husband had called her to say that there was a burglar in their home on the 9200 block of 15 Ave. S.W. When police arrived at the scene they found bystanders watching the home from outside and the front door slightly open. After entering the home and announcing themselves the police found two men holding down the suspect.
After taking the suspect into custody police were told that the two men were helping the home owners to move and found the front door kicked in when they came to move a couch. The two men went inside and found the suspect lounging on the couch enjoying television.
The two movers called the home owners immediately to check if they were expecting any house guests. When the home owners told them “no” the two men physically restrained the suspect and waited for the police to arrive.
The suspect was booked into the Southwest precinct and eventually taken to the King County Jail for burglary. Photos of the front door as well as shoe prints found on the door were processed into evidence.
Find my iPhone
Officers responded to multiple calls of a gun disturbance shortly after 6 p.m. on the 9400 block of 20 Ave. S.W. After gathering narratives from multiple parties at the scene police learned the chain of events that lead to the disturbance.
At 8:30 a.m. on the 9000 block of 21 Ave. S.W. one of the subject from the gun disturbance went to his neighbor’s house and asked to use their cell phone. After the subject left the house the neighbors (victims) found that their iPhone and MacBook laptop were missing.
After calling to report the robbery to the police the victims turned on the tracking function on their iPhone and soon received a signal and location from it.
After arriving to where the signal was leading, the victims found the subject outside of a home on the 9400 block of 20 Ave. S.W. The subject told the victims that he was going to attempt to get their stuff back from the resident who he sold them to. After re-entering the residence a struggle and argument was begun between the subject and the resident (suspect).
The suspect, a white male with tattoos wearing a tank top, came out brandishing a 9 mm handgun and yelling at the subject in the street. At this point neighbors watching the scene began calling police who arrived shortly and arrested the suspect.
When asked if the victims wished to press charges on the subject surprisingly they declined to pursue any legal action against him. The victims agreed to assist in the investigation into the weapon portion of the incident but now feared that the suspect would come after them later on since he lives so close to them. Officers informed the victims that they should smarten up and not allow the subject to victimize them anymore.
