Suspect stays on roof
Shortly after 3 a.m. on Sep. 30 police received a call from the 3000 block of S.W. Avalon WY reporting a burglary in progress. The suspect, initially described as a white male but later discovered to be a white female with long dirty blonde hair, was seen climbing through a window by a neighbor.
When officers arrived and began walking around the house they realized the suspect was still inside and began shouting at her to come outside. The suspect first tried to get away by leaving through a basement entrance but doubled back when she saw officers were waiting at that door as well. The suspect then went upstairs and climbed out a window on the second story and began to lie flat on the roof with her arms and legs spread.
The officers, yelling at her with both her Miranda Rights and orders to come down, took out video cameras and began recording the event as evidence for later charges. This also allowed the officers to have the neighbor who made the initial call come out and make a positive identification on the suspect.
After 20 minutes the suspect gave in and climbed down to the waiting authorities. She was arrested and booked into the King County Jail. The suspect was charged with burglary, resisting arrest, and obstructing an officer.
Assault in bed
An assault was reported to police at 5 a.m. on Sep. 27 at a residence on the 8800 block of 15 Ave. S.W. The house was discovered to be a home for numerous Spanish only speaking residents and gathering information in the case proved difficult as the residents were hesitant to speak to police.
As far as police could gather the victim and his wife were sleeping in one of the rooms of the house when another resident allowed the suspect to enter the home. The suspect burst into the victim’s bedroom with a metal pipe and began yelling at him for owing money while also whacking the victim’s leg with the pipe. The incident was very quick with the suspect leaving immediately after assaulting the victim.
The victim refused medical assistance for his leg and also refused to speak with police.
The victim’s wife, who was visiting from California, provided the entire narrative. The suspect is still at large.
