Food fight
Bike patrol officers responded to an assault and disturbance at a restaurant located in the Westwood Village Shopping Center shortly after noon on May 23. Dispatchers informed officers that the suspect had thrown food at an employee and was last seen fleeing the scene with an unknown female.
When officers arrived at the scene the complainant explained that the suspect had walked into the restaurant and began gathering up food orders that weren’t his off the line. The suspect, who was described as a tall, mixed race man with a full sleeve tattoo on one arm and wearing gym clothes, took the grabbed the food orders and walked outside. Two employees, a young male and young female, ran outside to stop the suspect and get the food back.
As they approached the suspect the suspect threw the food at the female employee and ran at the male employee with balled fists like he was going to strike him. At that point the female employee managed to get between the suspect and the male employee and keep them separated. After that the suspect walked away.
Both victims expressed to police that they feared for their safety during the incident. An area check for the suspect turned up negative. The suspect is still at large.
Botched robbery in parking lot
On May 18, just after noon, police received a report of an armed robbery with shots fired in a parking lot behind a business on 14 Ave. S. One of the victims was injured and the suspects had fled the scene.
Shortly before the call the two victims were walking towards their car in the parking lot when the two suspects, described only as two black males, stopped them, flashed their guns, and demanded the victims’ money. One of the victims refused and was immediately pistol whipped in the face. A short struggle ensued with the suspect hitting the victim and digging through his pockets at the same time.
The other victim began shouting for help. Both suspects took off running as the victim was yelling.
When they reached the other end of the parking lot one the suspect who had just pistol whipped one of the victims stopped, turned around and fired a single gunshot in the direction of both victims. Both suspects then jumped into a blue SUV which was being driven by an older white male with grey hair.
An area check turned up negative results. Neither victim was hit with by the bullet but the victim who had been assaulted suffered a broken nose. A single nine millimeter casing was found at the scene.
After running a check of the make of the car and the license plate police learned that the SUV was being sought in a hit-and-run incident in Tukwila that occurred on the 16th. The suspect in that incident was contacted in Auburn while one female subject in the car at the time was listed as living on S. Donovan St. The suspects currently remain at large.
