Seattle Lutheran stayed alive by posting a decisive victory over the Washington School for the Deaf at King's High School in Shoreline on Saturday.
The Saints now advance in state Class B-8 action, paying a 7 p.m. visit to Naselle this Friday.
Girls soccer
Highline 3, Lindbergh 2
Highline's Pirates prevailed in Saturday's West Central District playoff match against Lindbergh at Franklin Pierce and now advance to play Black Hills at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Highline Memorial to open state action.
Central Kitsap 1, Kennedy 0
Kennedy Catholic came up one goal short of state in Saturday's loss to the Cougars at Sunset Chevrolet Stadium in Sumner.
Volleyball
Columbia River 3, Kennedy 2
The Lancers were edged by Columbia River in the West Central District Class 3A championship match played at Auburn-Mountainview on Saturday.
Kennedy Catholic advances to state play at the Toyota Center in Kennewick as the district's No. 2 seed.
The Lancers play Stanwood in an 8 p.m. opener and go into the tournament with a 25-2 overall record.

State meet
The Chacon twins from Evergreen High School highlighted the local performances in Saturday's state meet held in Pasco.
Marques Chacon finished fifth in the Class 2A boys race in a time of 15 minutes, 45.8 seconds and Matthew Chacon came in right behind him in sixth with a 15:52.1.
Wolverines teammate Alex Zamora was 121st in 18:06.4, with Nahum Tulahun 130th in 18:38.1, Kirby Bui 135th in 19:40.4 and Quang Nguyen 136th in 20:08.9.
Sage Gibson of Seattle Christian took 10th in the girls 1A race with a time of 19:34.2 and teammate Jennifer Hoag snagged 68th in 21:39.4.
Kennedy's Lily Grassley finished 106th in 3A girls action in 21:13.6 with Marissa Tweedy 123rd in 21:43.5 and Karianne Bolma 134th in22:41.8.
Lincoln Marino placed 118th for Kennedy in the 3A boys race with a 17:19.9 time.
