The South Seattle College Foundation announced today that Catherine Irby Arnold has been named chair of the foundation’s board of directors.
Arnold, a West Seattle resident and longtime supporter of the college, joined the board in 2011 and has been integral in developing partnerships to support the foundation’s mission to change lives by providing students with scholarships so they can pursue a quality education and family-supporting careers.
“I saw the impact my mother – who was a dedicated teacher – made on the lives of young people throughout her career,” Arnold said. “Joining and now chairing the South Seattle College Foundation Board allows me to continue that legacy and make in impact in our community member’s lives by supporting their education.”
In her professional life, Arnold is Senior Vice President, Managing Director of Wealth Management Advisors for the Private Client Reserve of U.S. Bank. With over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, she consults with individuals, business owners, non-profits and institutions to properly align their financial needs with appropriate solutions.
“With her extensive experience in the financial industry and passion for providing opportunity through higher education, we are truly honored to have Catherine lead our foundation into the future,” South Seattle College President Gary Oertli said. “Her guidance is an invaluable asset as we strive to expand our 13th Year Promise Scholarship to additional high schools, and provide scholarship support to as many students as possible.”
