Robbery on 56th Avenue S.W.

A woman residing on the 3200 block of 56th Avenue S.W. called police around 10:40 p.m. on Mon., Nov. 7 to report a burglary. She went downstairs early in the evening to lock the doors and turn out the lights. Around 10 p.m., she noticed that her window in the basement had been shattered and pushed back. The screen was outside the house and bent. She went outside and saw that her gate, which she had locked and closed earlier, was open. Objects inside the house were out of place, but she wasn’t sure if anything had been stolen. Officers photographed the scene and secured the window with trash bags and duct tape.

Assault at clinic

Police were dispatched to a clinic located on the 2600 block of S.W. Holden St. at 6 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 5 to handle an assault. The Seattle Fire Department was already on the scene, treating the victim, when officers arrived. The victim explained that the suspect was sharing his room for the past two days, and there had been no problems with the arrangement until the suspect flushed the victim’s hospital bracelet down the toilet. When the victim confronted the suspect about it, the man responded by punching the victim in the face. A staff member at the facility tried to confront the suspect about it and she was also threatened by the suspect. He then barricaded himself in the room. Staff members told officers that once the man was removed from the room, he would not be sharing a space with the victim again.

Man attacked while walking home

Around 4:40 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 5, a man residing on 60th Avenue S.W. called police to report an assault from the night before. The victim had been drinking at a bar on California Avenue S.W. and decided to walk home. As he was approaching S.W. Admiral Way, three males approached him and asked if he wanted to smoke a blunt. He said yes and walked toward them. Then, one of the men struck the victim with an empty bottle in the face. He fell over into a nearby bush and the other men started to beat him with their fists and kick him in his sides. Finally, the suspects ran off. The victim had never spoken to the suspect before and did not understand the reason for the attack. The man suffered a number of injuries but refused medical treatment.

Robber eats cereal while ransacking home

Police were dispatched to a burglary in process around 8 a.m. on Wed., Nov. 2. When officers arrived on the scene, located at the 4400 block of 38th Avenue S.W., it was raining, which made it impossible for the K9 unit to get a scent. The victim said that he woke up to make breakfast and noticed a light coming from the bottom of the stairs. He thought he might have left the light on in the garage, so he went down to the adjoining basement to turn it off. When he looked into the garage, we came face-to-face with a burglar. He asked the intruder, “What are you doing here?”
The suspect responded, “I don’t know.”
The victim moved to fight the suspect, who was armed with a hammer. The homeowner said if the suspect would drop the hammer, he would let him go. The man let go of the tool, and the victim tried to open the garage door. The suspect pulled open the door and ran away. Officers inspected the area and believe that the suspect had been in the home for a while. He even made a bowl of cereal, which he left mostly untouched while he ransacked the basement apartment and garage. There were no signs of forced entry. The suspect left a knife on the kitchen table, as well as two flip phones and a pair of high-top basketball shoes. The suspect also loaded a plastic bin with food from the freezer and a chopsaw. Officers took photos of the area and uploaded them into evidence, along with the shoes. They also took fingerprints from the scene.
