Stabbing in the street
Police were dispatched to the 4700 block of California Ave SW for a report of a stabbing incident around 5 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12. The victim was a 16-year old female. Officers found the teen sitting on the ground near SW Alaska, with blood on her shoulder and face. The Seattle Fire Department arrived and placed her in a medic unit to transport her to the hospital. The suspect was a 40 year-old woman, who is missing her front teeth. The incident began when the suspect’s boyfriend gave the victim a hug. The suspect became angry and stabbed the victim with a knife. The boyfriend was able to stop her and calm her down. Then, they both fled the scene, heading south. Officers searched the area but were unable to find the couple.
Barroom brawl
When police arrived on the 4400 block of California Ave SW around 1:20 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, the Seattle Fire Department were already on the scene, treating an assault victim. The victim had been at Shadow Land just after midnight, spending time with friends, when another man began arguing with him about politics. The disagreement turned violent when the suspect punched him in the head. The victim fell and lost consciousness. When he came to, the suspect was gone.
Storage unit burglary
A burglary of a storage unit located on the 2900 block of SW Avalon Way was reported around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12. The manager of the facility was performing his morning security walk, when he noticed one of the units had been disturbed. He called the renter to notify him of the crime. The renter said that the unit had been burglarized before. The manager provided officers with a ledger of names of all the people who had recently accessed the storage unit – and the information was entered into evidence.
Shoplifter makes get-away
Officers arrived on the scene of a robbery, located on the 2800 block of SW Barton St, around 11 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9. A man in his 20s, wearing a black hat, hoodie, jeans and white sneakers, was concealing items in an attempt to shoplift from the store. Employees witnessed the event and tried to stop the man from leaving the store. He refused to cooperate, because he had a warrant from King County and did not want them to call the police. The man pulled one woman out of the way, leaving an abrasion on her right elbow and her right hand. Surveillance footage was submitted to police as evidence.
Caught stealing from a store on Delridge Way SW
Around 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, a shoplifter entered a specialty store on the 7300 block of Delridge Way SW and picked up a number of items, including full body harnesses and epoxy -- a total of $334 worth of goods. Security stopped the suspect and detained him until police arrived. Officers arrested the man for theft.
