Break-in on 20th Avenue S.W.
Police arrived on the 8800 block of 20th Avenue S.W. around 5:20 p.m. on Tues., July 11, after receiving a report of a burglary. The victim said that sometime between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. a thief took a Craftsman weed eater, valued at $140, from a shed in the yard. The suspect was unable to break the padlock to the building—and instead bent the plastic door enough to enter the space.
Attempted burglary on S.W. Holden
Around 4:30 p.m. on Tues., July 11, police were dispatched to the 1600 block of S.W. Holden to investigate an attempted burglary. The victim had been out of town from Wed., July 5 to Mon., July 10. He told officers that suspects had tried to open his door with a screwdriver and pry bar, leaving significant damage to the entry way. Nothing of value was taken from the home. The victim believes that the suspects were startled by the alarm and left before stealing anything. Officers took photos of the scene and entered them into evidence.
