Assault on SW Holden
When officers arrived to investigate an assault in the 2600 block of SW Holden St. around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, they found the victim lying on the floor. He was already being treated by the Seattle Fire Department. He explained that he was trying to fill out some paperwork, when a man came out of nowhere, grabbed him by the head and slammed him into Plexiglas near the office reception area. Staff members were able to break them apart. The victim did not lose consciousness but was in pain. Officers photographed the man’s injuries for evidence. The attacker said that the victim had called him a “faggot.” This claim was not verified.
Marijuana stolen from W Marginal Way SW
A caller reported a burglary at a business in the 6900 block of W Marginal Way SW around 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 4. When officers arrived, the caller explained that front door had been locked from inside and that they would have to go in through a side entrance. Security cameras had been broken off on the exterior of the building. Officers searched the building and cleared it. About 180 lbs of dried marijuana worth $100,000 had been stolen. The inside of the building had been ransacked. The caller said 200 lbs. of residual leaves had also been taken, valued at $20,000. A desktop computer and marijuana trimmer were also stolen. Officers found fingerprints and uploaded them into evidence.
Security guard threatened with razor
Officers received a call about a threat around 9:50 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1. They found the victim at work. He serves as a security guard at a business located in the 2600 block SW Barton St. A man was inside the restroom shaving, and the guard had asked him to leave in two to five minutes. The man started waving his razor at the guard. Eventually, the caller asked another guard to help him escort the suspect from the building.
Shoplifter turns violent
Around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29, officers were dispatched to investigate a robbery in the 7300 block of Delridge Way SW. The caller was a loss prevention specialist for a business and had watched a man shoplift. When the suspect was outside the front doors, when asked to return the merchandise. The suspect refused, and the two got into a fight, ending up on the ground. Then a vehicle pulled up, the driver got out and started yelling that he was going to fight the victim if he didn’t let go of the shoplifter. The victim let go of the shoplifter, who got into the car. He took photos of the shoplifter and vehicle as they drove away. The suspect stole two dimmer switches, valued at about $150 together. Officers searched the area but did not find the suspects.
Burglars hit SW Othello
Officers arrived in the 3500 block of SW Othello around 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 to investigate a burglary. The house had not been cleared – and they found the victim waiting outside her home. She said that when she arrived home, she noticed items strewn around the house. Her husband left early, and she went out around noon. When she returned, she thought her kitten had made a mess. Then she realized that the damage was far greater. Officers checked the area for a suspect. When they cleared the property, they were able to check for damage. The back basement door was kicked in and the doorframe was broken. The suspects used a laundry basket to carry out stolen items, which included a laptop, Google Chromebook, two checkbooks, a Bluetooth speaker, a couple pairs of Nike running shoes, five coats, a backpack, a vintage paper cutter and a suit from the couple’s wedding day. Officers were not able to find fingerprints.
