Officer causes concern

"Something is wrong"

I am a homeowner here in the Highline area for 23 years. I have worked with the local police quite often and now we are being harassed by a local officer.

We all can not live in Normandy Park like this officer. He tagged the vehicle I use to take care of my handicapped mother and her medical needs. My little two-seater car doesn't work.

Now, mind you, I do not mind officers doing their job, but as a taxpayer, I should not be paying an officer's wages to be a meter maid.

Highline district candidate calls for school changes

A North Highline woman, whose son attended special education classes in the Highline district, is running for the Highline School Board.

Susan Goding will oppose Mengstab Tzegai in the November election. Tzegai was appointed to the board last year.

According to Goding, she first enrolled her son in the fifth grade at Hilltop Elementary and home-schooled him in the sixth grade.

60th Soiree

To commemorate their 60th birthday the Highline Times gave a gift back to the community by throwing a bonanza of a bash for the local theatre group the Hi-Liners.

Civic and community leaders gathered at the Burien Elks Lodge on Aug. 17 for an experience of dinner theatre and good old fashion socializing. The Hi-Liners performed

three spectacular scenes from their

upcoming production of

West Side Story.

Between scenes Hi-Liner parents and board members advocated the importance of youth theatre in the community.

Rams hoping to reach new heights

sports CORRESPONDENT

There are always predictions in horse racing by columnists, and, with those educated guesses are also "sure things."

With the 2005 Des Moines Rams Junior Football League teams, there are five divisions but only one team that proves it can surely be a best bet before things are through in 2005.

The Pee Wees division coach, Bennie DeFils, has experienced success with the Rams organization even though every single team took last place last season. Most of the teams were winless in the eight-game campaigns.
