Eagles launch new season with a split

Sitting by a roaring fire in the fireplace, drinking hot chocolate, taking a hot bath or taking a hot shower.

Those were the activities people were talking about at Thursday's Federal Way home track meet against Kentwood.

But there was something to be said about the meet itself.

The Eagle boys posted a 100-35 victory over the Conquerors, while the girls took a 90-49 loss in the action at Federal Way Memorial Field.

"The kids performed well under bad conditions," said Federal Way boys head coach Sam Beesley.
