Sealth Principal Morales seeks answers in Covid Survey

If you have students at Sealth International High School, you likely know that a "Sick Out" by teachers at the school led the Seattle Public Schools District to cancel classes for Friday Jan. 14.

Now the Principal has shared a survey he wants parents to fill out seeking answers and direction in a way forward regarding either distance or in person learning.

He wrote:

Student/family voice is important and should help inform decision making. CSI admin team believes in-person learning is what’s best for students but we want your feedback about what you need to feel safe at school. The survey is anonymous, but if you provide your name you’ll get a Sealth beanie. Pick it up in the main office. Thank you.

Lumberyard Bar on track to open this spring in White Center

After the arson fire, and a season of support a new home is taking shape

By Patrick Robinson

When the arsonist set fire to the much loved Lumberyard Bar in White Center last July 5 there was no way to know what it would come to mean. White Center has suffered through years of neglect and earned a reputation far uglier than the people and businesses there deserve. In fact they consistently rise in support of one another and always in a spirit of acceptance and empathy. Now the Lumberyard, which is LGBTQ+ friendly,  is in the process of rebuilding, directly across from their former location at 9630 16th Ave SW.

The most current forecast is for an opening in late Spring, "Before Pride," said the owner Nathan Adams.

Op Ed- SDOT Bridge Propaganda

By Bob Ortblad

SDOT recently issued the “West Seattle High Bridge Long-Term Replacement Planning Compiled Report”.

This report is engineering propaganda touting the replication of the current bridge.

To eliminate a tunnel option, SDOT evaluated a bizarre tunnel with 360- degrees spiral entrances two miles apart. The tunnel is not defined as a bored, excavated, cut-and-cover, or immersed tube tunnel. This technology has been proven time and time again and is growing in popularity around the world.
