High schools
Football
Seattle Lutheran travels to Orcas Island for a 3 p.m. non-playoff game Thursday, then Friday's schedule includes a 7 p.m. non-playoff between Highline and Evergreen at Highline Memorial Stadium.
West Seattle is facing a 7 p.m. playoff at Lincoln High School in Tacoma Friday and Mount Rainier journeys to Skyline for a playoff at the same time.
Renton is at Foster for a 7 p.m. non-playoff game that night.
Kennedy Catholic will play Mariner in a playoff at 5 p.m. Saturday at Highline Memorial Stadium.
Girls soccer
Highline visits Olympic in Silverdale for a 5:30 p.m. playoff on Tuesday and Kennedy Catholic will go to Sparks Stadium in Puyallup to play Olympia at the same time Thursday.
Volleyball
Seattle Christian goes to Klahowya for a 6 p.m. loser-out playoff Thursday with the winner going to Coupeville for 1:30 p.m. action Saturday.
Kennedy Catholic enters 4A West Central District action Friday, at least playing matches at 1:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. at Kentwood High School. The tournament runs through Saturday.
Girls swimming
The Sea-King 3A District meet will be held at the Mary Wayte Pool in Mercer Island this Friday and Saturday as the 2A West Central District meet takes place at the Hazen pool in Renton.
Cross country
The Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco will be the site of all of the state races this Saturday, starting with the wheelchair division at 9:30 a.m. and ending with the 4A boys race at 2:30 p.m. with everything else in between.

Seahawks
Seattle hosts Buffalo for 5:30 p.m. Monday Night Football action at CenturyLink Field in Seattle that can be seen live on ESPN.
Sounders
Fresh off their 3-0 Western Conference semifinal victory over Dallas on Sunday, the Sounders will travel to Dallas to continue the series at 6 p.m. this coming Sunday.
Thunderbirds
Seattle is in Saskatoon for a 6:05 p.m. match Tuesday before visiting Prince Albert at 6 p.m. Wednesday and Brandon at 5:30 p.m. Friday. The Thunderbirds visit Moose Jaw at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Stars
Tacoma's indoor soccer team is in Turlock, Calif. for 7:05 p.m. action against the Express on Friday.

Husky football
The University of Washington visits California for a 7:30 p.m. game Saturday in Berkeley.
Cougar football
Washington State University will see 1 p.m. action Saturday at home in Pullman against Arizona.
Husky basketball
The Huskies visit Western Washington University for a 7 p.m. game Thursday to open their preseason.
Cougar basketball
Washington State University opens its preseason with a 5 p.m. Sunday home game in Pullman against Carroll College.
