Kela leads Rangers in ERA
Chief Sealth graduate Keone Kela now leads Major League Baseball's Texas Rangers in earned run average (ERA) after lowering his to 2.36.
Kela has a 4-1 record with one save in two attempts.
Kela boasts 46 strikeouts in 34.1 innings of work, walking only 16. He has thrown in 34 games this year out of the Texas bullpen.
Barnette sticks with Texas 'pen
Thomas Jefferson graduate Tony Barnette teams up with Kela in the Texas Rangers' bullpen and has lowered his earned run average to 5.55 in 35.2 innings of work over 30 games.
Barnette has 43 strikeouts compared to only 12 walks and has a 1-1 record.
Brett batting .250 for Bulls
Highline graduate Ryan Brett is batting .250 (10-for-40) with five doubles, three RBI and two runs scored for the Durham Bulls of the Tampa Bay Rays organization.
Brett has been on and off of the disabled list this year, but is currently active. Brett plays second base.
Conger hitting .239 for Aces
Federal Way native Hank Conger has a .239 batting average (43-for-180) as a catcher for the Reno Aces of the Arizona Diamondbacks' organization.
Conger has eight doubles, one triple and six home runs along with a solid 40 RBI and 20 runs scored. Conger has walked 21 times and struck out 45.
