Adelaide M. (Bursch) Danielson

Adelaide M. (Bursch) Danielson went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2006. She was born in Minneapolis on May 2, 1914 to Frank and Hilda Bursch. Beloved wife of 64 years to Earl and loving mother of Karen (Richard) Jaenicke, Carol (Jerry) Sanders and David (Ginette) Danielson. She will also be greatly missed by nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

During her 92 years she worked as a munitions inspector during WWII, played on a girls' baseball team, loved to travel, including Hemet and countries outside the U.S.

Dr. James O. York

Dr. James Ottis York passed away in his sleep January 1, 2007 at his home in Wesley Terrace in Des Moines WA. He was born November 4, 1916 in Harrison Arkansas and moved to West Seattle, WA at age 7.

He served as an Army Chaplin in Nome Alaska during WWII.

Jim was ordained a minister in the Christian Church ( Disciples of Christ) in 1941 and served in many churches including Lewiston, ID, Bellingham, WA, and Nampa ID, retiring in 1982.

William J. Pope

Born 10-27-1925.went to be with the Lord on 12-30-2006. Survived by his loving wife of 58 year, Ruth; eight children, Bob (Linda), Kathy, Ann (Tim), Larry, Cindy (Guy), Connie (Owen), Joe and Janet (Ron); ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Remembrances may be sent to Providence Mt. St. Vincent.

Margaret (Marki) Kaiser

On December 27, 2006 at the age of 76, Margaret (Marki) Kaiser joined her beloved husband, Bob, of 45 years in heaven. Marki loved life and always fought for the underdog. Her family and extended family were most important to her. She cherished and proudly displayed photographs of them throughout he home. Marki leaves behind her daughter, Shawn and husband Lonnie Thelen, her step-granddaughter, Jeanne and her many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Marki was retired from Stusser Electric where she spent many years as their Customer Service Manager.

Marjorie Wylde Delsman

Long-Time West Seattle Resident

Marjorie Wylde Delsman, age 97, died in her home on January 2, 2007. The daughter of Pearl and Samuel Wylde, who immigrated to West Seattle from Canada and England respectively, Marjorie was born on March 7, 1909, in the family home on 47th Ave S.W. Her grandfather, Samuel Wylde, founded Novelty Mill flour Company in 1893 and developed it into a prosperous family business shipping "Excellent Flour' to Alaska and Asia. The mill was located Where Salty's Seafood Grill on Alki is today.

Nadine V. Anderson

Born on September 10, 1920, in Pipestone, Minn., Nadine V. Anderson passed away on December 13, 2006, at the age on 86.

Nadine and her husband of 57 years, Robert J. Anderson, who preceded her in death, were long time residents of Burien and active patrons in the community and the Lutheran church. She was devoted to her family who loved her dearly.

She is survived by five daughters and their families, which include eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A memorial service was held at Boulevard Park Place on Jan. 7.

Kari Ann Hilden

Kari Ann Hilden, 52, a long-time resident of Burien, passed away Dec. 30 at home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Kari was born May 21, 1954, in Tacoma, raised in Colfax and attended WSU.

In 1975, she moved to Burien where she has raised her three sons, Andrew (Tina), Christopher (Eva) Flanders, and Scott Hilton.

Eleanore C. Houser

Eleanore C. Houser was born on October 22, 1917, and passed away on December 19, 2006.

She was the wife of Rex Houser for 61 years. Eleanore ran their State Farm Insurance office for 40 years in the Boulevard Park area. She was an active participant in the women's group of Glen Acres Golf and Country Club where they resided.

After retirement they became "snowbirds," splitting time between Mesa, Ariz., and Bellingham, where they enjoyed golf, tennis, bridge and traveling the world. Her love of life showed in everything she did.

Ruth I. Whitaker

Beloved Mother and Grandmother

Lifelong resident of West Seattle passed away Dec. 24, 2006. She leaves behind daughter, Jean Sellars; grandchildren, Kim, Bill (Carla) and Mike; 5 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren and she will be missed by many close friends.
