Nadine V. Anderson

Born on September 10, 1920, in Pipestone, Minn., Nadine V. Anderson passed away on December 13, 2006, at the age on 86.

Nadine and her husband of 57 years, Robert J. Anderson, who preceded her in death, were long time residents of Burien and active patrons in the community and the Lutheran church. She was devoted to her family who loved her dearly.

She is survived by five daughters and their families, which include eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A memorial service was held at Boulevard Park Place on Jan. 7.

Kari Ann Hilden

Kari Ann Hilden, 52, a long-time resident of Burien, passed away Dec. 30 at home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Kari was born May 21, 1954, in Tacoma, raised in Colfax and attended WSU.

In 1975, she moved to Burien where she has raised her three sons, Andrew (Tina), Christopher (Eva) Flanders, and Scott Hilton.

Eleanore C. Houser

Eleanore C. Houser was born on October 22, 1917, and passed away on December 19, 2006.

She was the wife of Rex Houser for 61 years. Eleanore ran their State Farm Insurance office for 40 years in the Boulevard Park area. She was an active participant in the women's group of Glen Acres Golf and Country Club where they resided.

After retirement they became "snowbirds," splitting time between Mesa, Ariz., and Bellingham, where they enjoyed golf, tennis, bridge and traveling the world. Her love of life showed in everything she did.

Ruth I. Whitaker

Beloved Mother and Grandmother

Lifelong resident of West Seattle passed away Dec. 24, 2006. She leaves behind daughter, Jean Sellars; grandchildren, Kim, Bill (Carla) and Mike; 5 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren and she will be missed by many close friends. George E. Lane

George E. Lane was born on September 4, 1921, in Great Falls. Mont. He passed away December 15, 2006, at home in SeaTac at age 85.

George was a native son of Montana and a life-long resident of the Pacific Northwest who served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of St.

Harvey Louis Grohs

Harvey Louis Grohs, 83 a long-time resident of Des Moines, passed away on December 17, 2006.

Harvey was born January 21, 1923, in Portland, Ore., where he served on the Portland police department and as a rescue diver for 10 years. Then Harvey moved his family to Seattle in 1957 to open his own business, Harvey's Skin Diving Suits Inc. This was a life-long dream to open his own dive store. He started making his own dive suits for customers and by 1966 was selling suits around the world. Today Harvey's suits are well known world-wide as one of the best.

Dennis Michael LARSON

Complications following surgery for lung cancer claimed the life of

Dennis Larson, 42, of Burien. He was born in Seattle, the youngest of

four children, graduated from Ballard HS in 1982, and served four years

in the USAF, attaining the rank of Sgt. Dennis was the dearly loved

son/stepson of Ella and Georg Kjonsvik, and Robert & Devota Larson. He

Ralph James Crews

Born November 24, 1925, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Ralph James Crews passed away peacefully December 8, 2006, at the age of 81.

Ralph is survived by his brother Bob; his loving wife of 53 years, Laurie; son Scott and wife Kath, daughter Kim and Scott Rapp, and son Brian; and grandchildren Tyler, Morgan and Holly.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Mabel Crews, brother Rex, and sisters Gerri and Donna.

As a teacher, coach, counselor and vice principal in the Highline School District, he touched the lives of many.

Anida Montgomery

Anida Montgomery, of Seattle, lost her courageous battle with stomach cancer on Dec. 13, 2006, at the age of 49 years.

She was born Jan. 1, 1957, in Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada. She was raised in International Falls, Minn., then moved to Seattle with her husband and three children in 1985.

She was known for her kindness, cheerfulness and loving ways.
