The announcement that Sanislo Elementary was due for closure, with students enrolled there heading to Highland Park Elementary, was met with many questions. To address those and offer some more insight Sanislo is hosting a meeting Nov. 12.

Delfino Lopez-Morales was sentenced to 136 months in prison on November 8th for the deaths of Riley Danard and Kahlea Theouk, who were killed in a wrong-way collision on the West Seattle Bridge on March 22, 2023.

Seattle police have arrested a 26-year-old male linked to a homicide from October 13th at Shree's Truck Stop in the 7800 block of Detroit Ave SW.

A 53-year-old man was shot to death around 8:01 p.m.

The annual West Seattle Junction Harvest Festival was a hoot and a holler on Oct. 27 and featured a Kick-Off Costume Parade as costumed kids visited booths and junction merchants to collect candy.

Ruby Bridges was the first African American child to attend the formerly whites-only William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana during the New Orleans school desegregation crisis on November 14, 1960.

The Sound Transit Board of Directors voted to advance the West Seattle Link Extension project into the design phase during their meeting on October 24, 2024.

After getting the route approval recommendation from the System Expansion Committee, the Sound Transit Executive Board will take up the final approval to move ahead with the project on Oct. 24.The  meeting is public and online.
