Domestic dispute non-violent couple says

1. The residents of a home on the 2000 block of South 320th Street told police that their argument was not violent. Neighbors called the Federal Way police to report that the couple appeared to be fighting over a vehicle issue. The couple agreed with that statement, however, they insisted that the argument was verbal only and did not escalate to physical violence. Neither party showed any signs of physical injury, nor did they complain of any. Officers left a domestic violence pamphlet at the scene. The event took place around 2 a.m.

Adelaide M. (Bursch) Danielson

Adelaide M. (Bursch) Danielson went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2006. She was born in Minneapolis on May 2, 1914 to Frank and Hilda Bursch. Beloved wife of 64 years to Earl and loving mother of Karen (Richard) Jaenicke, Carol (Jerry) Sanders and David (Ginette) Danielson. She will also be greatly missed by nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

During her 92 years she worked as a munitions inspector during WWII, played on a girls' baseball team, loved to travel, including Hemet and countries outside the U.S.

Marie Elizabeth (Back) Berg

Born February 7, 1916-Died December 21, 2006, Survived by her brother, Leonard; and many nieces and nephews; relatives in Finland, Sweden and Norway, and many dear and cherished friends. In the business world Elizabeth was ahead of her time; she worked in the movie distribution industry for over thirty years, bringing entertainment to Alaska and Washington. She was a past president of the Seattle Sacajawea Chapter of the National Secretaries Association International 1958-59, active in the Order of Runeberg, Lodge #101, and a founding member of the Swedish Finn Historical Society.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SELL REAL PROPERTY

Highline School District No. 401 owns certain surplus real property including the former Riverton Heights Elementary School site which has been declared surplus. The site is located in SeaTac Washington at 3011 S. 148th Street (legal description below). The District proposes to sell the property. A public hearing regarding the sale will be held by the Highline School District No. 401 Board of Directors on January 24, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the following location: Madrona Elementary School at 20301 32nd Avenue South, SeaTac, Washington.

SR-509 extension faces cuts

The long-delayed State Route 509 extension may be scaled back because of escalating costs.

Earlier estimates pegged the project's cost at $1.03 billion.

New projections now place the final bill at $1.35 billion-a 31 percent increase.

The original plan called for six lanes extending from South 188th Street, where the freeway now ends, to Interstate 5 near South 200th Street.

A new south access road from Sea-Tac International Airport to SR 509 would be included in the project.

LaVielle promoted to fire chief

Scott LaVielle, who most recently was fire marshal of the North Highline Fire District, became the department's new fire chief on Jan. 1.

A 27-year veteran who worked his way up through the ranks, LaVielle replaces Russ Pritchard.

North Highline Fire District commissioners voted 2-1 in December to promote LaVielle to fire chief.

In a controversial move on Sept. 7, the commissioners unanimously agreed to offer Pritchard a 57 percent pay raise in exchange for his resignation effective Dec.
