Chancey Hammond was born in Burlington, Kansas, on March 2, 1920, and passed peacefully away on November 9, 2007. Following school he left Kansas to briefly work in Seattle at Northwest Airlines, and subsequently as a mechanic and flight inspector at Boeing. Though being exempted from military service while working at Boeing, Chancey's patriotism led him to enlist in the Navy during World War II. Following WWII, Chancey met his future wife at Boeing, Marie Woulf, and they were married on September 13, 1947.

Thelma M. Hagberg, a 48-year resident of the greater Burien area, passed away Oct. 19 at her home town of Mount Hope, Kansas. She was 85 years old. Born to Arthur and Clare Wilhelm in San Jose, Calif., on Jan. 29, 1922, the family soon moved to the Wilhelm homestead at Mount Hope.

Mrs. Hagberg was known by family, friends and neighbors for her kindness, constant service and beautiful smile.

Thelma married John F. C. Hagberg on Nov. 10, 1945, in Wichita, Kansas. The couple had three children-Nancy, Marilyn and John II. Mr.

Her maiden name was Esther Aloysius McKiddy, but everyone knew her as Kitty. She could look at you as if you were the most important person in the world and, at that moment, you were. As a teacher Kitty taught children how to read, write and do arithmetic. For Boeing she sewed insignias, passenger seats and astronauts' spacesuits, and at the Rainier School she provided companionship, instruction and comfort.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a truly faithful Catholic.

May 26, 1962 - October 25, 2007

Mark was raised in Seattle and graduated from Sealth High School. He served four years in the air force and worked for Boeing as an aircraft electrician for 21 years.

He is survived by parents Lloyd and Myrna Fisher of Seattle; brothers Rollie Fisher from Renton and Matthew Fisher from Seattle; children Adam Fisher, Erin Fisher, and Kaitlin Fisher from Woodinville; grandma Rose (Krook) Gibbs from Seattle; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be missed by all.

A long-time West Seattle resident, entered his eternal home on Tuesday, November 6, 2007.

A memorial service will be held in the West Side Presbyterian Church, 3601 California Ave. SW, Seattle, on Monday, November 26 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be sent to: Circle of Concern, Wesley Homes, 815 S. 216th St., Des Moines, Washington 98198.

Age 84, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, October 26, 2007.

Ginny was born in Sayre, PA to Leonard and Thursa Hastings in 1922. She was married to Leo Novak in 1944, and resided in Athens, Pennsylvania until 1961 when the Novak family made their new home in West Seattle on Sunset Avenue. After raising her two sons, Virginia worked in Real Estate in West Seattle for over 30 years and enjoyed knowing and serving the people of West Seattle.

Ginny was an avid reader and loved spending time with her husband and family.

Greenwood/Ballard resident passed away on November 13, 2007. He leaves behind Jean, his loving wife of 58 years, daughter Carol (deceased), granddaughter Tammy and her husband Bret, and great-grandchildren Tony, Charlie, Sam and Savannah. Also surviving Art is his brother Don and his family as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 17th, 3:30 p.m. at Columbia Lutheran Home at 4700 Phinney Ave N, Seattle and a graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, November 19th, 2:00 p.m.

Of Camano Island, formerly of Seattle, died unexpectedly November 2, at the age of 65.

Born to Olga and Richard Davis in 1942, Dixie was raised in Zenith, WA. She began her education at the University of Washington where she joined Delta Delta Delta sorority.

M. Rebecca "Becky" Herbers, age 59, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 13, 2007 of natural causes. Becky is survived by her father, Aloysius Jr.; brother, James W. (Magdalena); sister Deborah (Donald) Klein; nephews, Carl and David Klein; beloved friends Ruger and Jackie D. She retired in 2003 from the Tacoma School District after 35 years as an elementary teacher. Private family services will be held. Interment, Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery.
