Hermina L. Colvin

Hermina L. "Hermie" Colvin of Ocean Shores, Washington, passed away July 12, 2007 at Grays Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Aberdeen, Washington, at the age of 91. She was born in Leadville, Colorado to parents Frank and Amalia (Mihich) Luzar whom immigrated from Austria. She lived in Leadville for approximately six years and then along with her parents, two older half-brothers and one older half-sister, they moved to Renton, Washington. She resided there until she was married to John Swieski in 1939 and the couple took up residency in West Seattle, Washington.

Nancy Graves Gustafson

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Nancy was born October 28, 1943, in Seattle, and passed away July 15, 2007, in Normandy Park at the age of 63.

She was an elementary school teacher in the Highline School District for over 30 years. She was a long-time member of Lake Burien Presbyterian and later John Knox Presbyterian Church.

Robert Loren Allsopp

Born: Sept. 12, 1920

Died: July 9, 2007

Robert Loren Allsopp, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away July 9 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born September 12, 1920, in Bellingham, he spent most of his life as a Renton resident, graduating from Renton High School.

After two tours of duty with the Air Force, he met and married Hazel Dougherty of Payette, Idaho, in August of 1954.

Avis Van Loan

Of Seattle, Washington passed away July 4, 2007 from heart disease. She was born October 30, 1937 to Josephine and James Power in Duluth, Minnesota. She worked at her parent's photography studio while still in school. She graduated from Cathedral High class of 1955. During school she was in Drama and later joined a local theater group. Avis worked at Bridgeman's ice cream parlor for a few years then attended St. Scholastica College in Minneapolis.

In 1961 she married and came to Seattle where her three children were born. The family moved to Houston Texas in 1967.

Robert Terrill Corliss

January 27, 1920- June 24, 2007, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday afternoon, June 24, 2007.

He leaves behind his wife Genevieve, his son, Mark (Sharon), three grandchildren, Danny, Josh and Lizzie, his daughter and best friend Bonita Corliss and her partner Pamela Wilkins.

Special gratitude goes to Lynn Kefgen, RN, Gwendolyn Roush, MSW, and Kate O'Sulllivan, Chaplain, all of Providence Hospice of Seattle.

Gerard Raymond Cloutier

Born, December 28, 1921 in New Auburn, Maine; passed away on July 9, 2007 in Seattle, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Germaine. Devoted father of Marc and Brenda Cloutier and grandfather of Lisa and Laura Cloutier, Jena and Christopher Restad, as well as Anice and Anthony Spodnik. He enjoyed his family, building dollhouses and walking on Alki Beach.

Memorials to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, P.O. Box 19024/LY-120 Seattle, WA 98109 are preferred.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 24th at 11 a.m.

Beatrice "Bea" Abraham

April 18, 1913 - July 7, 2007 - Our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother passed away after being with us for 94 years. She had lived in West Seattle since her teen years when her parents moved here from Minneapolis. She and her husband raised four children in West Seattle.

Bea spent most of her working years as a cook and waitress. Two of places she worked were the old Post Office Terminal and the Edgewater Hotel. She had the excitement of working at the hotel when the Beatles were there in 1964.

Rita M. Ness

Long time Ballard resident, Rita M. Ness, 70 passed away at Life Care of Skagit Valley on July 1, 2007. She battled a long illness with lung disease and cancer..

She is survived by her daughters Marie Turner (Bryan) and Dorothy Young, sister Betty Willet (Floyd), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be on July 22, 2007 on the 12:20 p.m. Seattle to Bainbridge ferry run. All are welcome.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Cancer Society.

Lloyd Robert "Bob"

Foss

Our dear Dad, Lloyd Robert "Bob" Foss passed away peacefully Saturday, July 7, at his home in Kent.

He was born in Montesano, Washington, on June 29, 1929, the son of Lloyd A. Foss and Elizabeth Gleeson Foss. A graduate of the class of '47 of Montesano High School, he was a proud member of the Bulldog football team. He continued his education and upheld a long family tradition by attending Western Washington State College in Bellingham. From 1952 to 1954 he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant in the U.S.
