The Highland Park Improvement Club, which suffered a devastating fire June 25, has not been idle.

The Seattle Police Southwest Precinct will see a change at the top as Captain Kevin Grossman is being reassigned to the North Precinct. He announced the change in an email. Captain Martin Rivera will be taking over November 1st.

Crime in White Center gets a lot of headlines and for good reason. Some of it has been dramatic in the form of shootings and murder that get widely shared and published.

You have until Oct. 28 to examine (and figure out) the changes being proposed in the North Highline Community Service Area Subarea Plan. The plans are extremely detailed and lengthy.

The King County Department of Local Services (DLS) has been in the process of developing what is known as the Sub Area Plan, for Skyway-West Hill and North Highline which includes White Center.

Sound Transit via their website shared that they are seeking people to serve on community advisory groups for the West Seattle and Ballard Link light rail extensions. Applications will be accepted through 5:00pm on October 27th.
