Joe G.R. JACKSON

Joe G.R. Jackson, age 74, passed peacefully on September 27, 2006, in Renton.

Joe is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary E. Jackson, and their daughters, Patricia Jackson and Cyndie (John) Young.

Beverly J. PETHEL

Beverly J. Pethel, 71, died September 15, 2006.

She is survived by her son Russell Pethel and his wife Michelle; sisters Alene (Toots) Greathouse, Marilyn Petersen, Kay Jennings and Kathy Marshall; brothers Robert, John, Raymond (Butch), Dennis, Gary, Mike, and Steve Foster; special friends Tom and Corine McLeod; and numerous relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Pethel, in 1981.

A funeral service was held September 20, 2006, at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park in SeaTac.

Leonard L. POSKIN, Jr.

Leonard passed away on Sept. 18, 2006. He was 70 yrs old. He was a retiree of both Boeing and Plumbers Union Local 32. He resided in the Des Moines area for the last 40 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Constance (Connie); a son, Jeffrey; daughters Melinda and Laura; grandsons Kenneth and Justin; and a sister, Sylvia.

Georgia (Ninnie) ROLAND

Georgia (Ninne) Roland, 74, died Sept. 19, 2006, at her home in Auburn. She was born Jan. 17, 1932, in Roslyn, Wash.

She is survived by her daughter, Deven Jeffries; a sister, Beverly Maxwell; and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her husband of 38 years, Oscar Roland, preceded her in death. Interment was Sept. 23, 2006, at Evergreen-Washelli Memorial Park, followed by a reception at Doubletree Sea-Tac. Please sign the family's online guest book at www.yahnandson.com.

Irene Frances HALLETT

Irene France Hallet, 78, passed away Sept. 22, 2006, following heart surgery at Providence-Swedish Hospital.

She was born in Seattle on June 15, 1928, to Frank and Irva Hallett. She was raised and attended school in Burien and graduated from Washington State University with an MS in Physical Education. Her first teaching position was at Mead High School near Spokane. She returned to the coast in 1955 where she taught at Port Townsend. In 1956 she began teaching phys ed and coaching interscholastic co-ed tennis at Highline High School.

Cecilia Louise "Cece" COY

"Cece" was the "heart" of Seahurst and her neighbors already miss her. After a brave, three-year fight with breast cancer, she passed away peacefully at 11:20 a.m. September 22.

Born on March 1, 1946, in San Mateo, California, she moved to the Seahurst Community in 1975. She was a flight attendant for Western/Delta Airlines for 34 years. She loved to play the piano and violin, ice skate, garden and paint. At the age of 60, she took up rollerblading! She was fluent in French and pretty good in many other languages. Most of all she was kindness personified.

Alice Elizabeth PASSAGE

Alice Elizabeth Passage of Des Moines, formerly of Auburn, died of pneumonia on Sept. 22, 2006, at Highline Hospital in Burien. She was 89. Alice was born Nov. 21, 1916, at Outlook, Wash., to Wilson and Ruby Dopps, who were farmers. She had two sisters, Nellie and Helen, and a brother, Dan, who are now deceased.

Alice grew up in Granger, Wash., where she attended school, graduating from Granger High School in 1934. She attended college at Washington State University where she graduated in 1938, majoring in Education and Speech.

Adolph W. Young

Adolph W. Young, long time resident of West Seattle, passed away on September 8, 2006 in Seattle, WA. He was born in Anchorage Alaska on August 14, 1922. After high school he moved to Chicago, IL to attend the Sherwood School of Music where he met the love of his life Jean Brightwell. They married in Chicago on March 20, 1953. After Jean and Adolph graduated from the music school they moved to Seattle, WA where Adolph's father and two brothers resided. They settled in West Seattle and started their family.

Adolph worked for Boeing for thirty-five years as a shopkeeper.

Gertrud C. "Trudi" Smith

Passed away Tuesday, September 12th at Providence Mount St. Vincent. She is survived by her son Paul, daughter-in-law Daris, and granddaughters Jessika and Jennifer (Carlos). Gertrud was born March 5,1921 in Graz, Austria the only child of Fredrich and Christine Lang. The family moved to Linz, Austria where her electrical engineer father opened an electrical design and parts shop. Trudi was the bookkeeper for the family business. She was an avid skier and tennis player and met her future husband, Herbert Smith, on a tennis court. The couple were engaged in 1954 and married in 1955.
